Crystal Earrings

This is my new earrings after so many years. Yup, it's made of crystal! Bought them from Stege Global Collection at Parkway Parade when I bot my HTC TyTN II! They are the authorized agent for Crystal Evolution.

Very unique huh! Both the earrings are made of surgical steel, the one on my left ear (with a hook) costs $169 & the left stud costs $49. Price varies for platinum & gold!

Saw the back of the stud? It's flat so it is actually wore from the back to front, screw at the front crystal stud. This is more secured as everytime I washed my hair, the normal gold studs will dropped out & gone. That's y I had never wear earrings for years! Anyway, the shopkeeper still reminded that I should check the screw every 2 weeks juz in case it had loosen up.

Genting/KL/Muar Trip4

Wah 4th post on my 2days 1 night KL trip! Is everyone getting tired of my posts? Haahaa... Okie, back to my story!

After shopping, we went back to hotel, decided to get refreshed, check out & proceed to Muar. When reached our hotel rooms, all the room cards cannot be used! Bil went to checked w the hotel staff & found that they had de-activated all our cards coz it's over check out time. Bil had requested for late check out when we checked in the day b4 & was approved. Hmm... how come we still got locked outside the rooms! Bil had got them to re-activate all the cards but was told only for 1 entry! Once door lock, cannot open again!!! Alamak! Anyway, after all the hoo-haas... we managed to check out of the hotel at about 1pm.

On our way to Muar! Going to miss KL, I will be back! Haahaa... Got a bit of jam at the NS Highway on the way back, opposite way is so quiet! Heavy rain on the way too! We exit at Tangkak & drove the small road to Muar. Quite a long way too, took abt min. 30mins to reached Muar. 1st thing we went to the street stores along Jalan Meriam for our late late lunch cum dinner. The wanton noodles, otah, fried oysters & satay are the best there! There are many stores selling the same stuffs so must really eyes open big big & check out which are the best stores for this yummy food! The chin chow drink (they called it "liang fen") & liang chao goes very well for such a hot weather!

Dh got a namecard from the best otah store there. Heehee... found the locals called the street as "四马路贪吃街". What a funny nick for the street! To get to Jalan Meriam, just drive straight after crossing the Muar's 2nd bridge. Very easy to find!

After the full full meal, we proceed to "Yong Sheng Confectionery" along Jalan Sayang, very near to Jalan Meriam (within walking distance). This time round, dh knew the way so we reached there quite fast by wallking. Previously we had a hard time, drving round & round the area to find the shop!

Went to this shop a few times already but seldom buy anything there coz I dun quite like to eat those local foodstuffs. Anyway this time we bot some biscuits with fillings inside, very nice! Please drop by divine-cafe to read up on what I had bought! ;)

We left Muar about 6-7pm & reached Singapore checkpoint about 9plus... Everyone was zzz-ing in the car while dh had to drive all with his sleepy eyes!

Genting/KL/Muar Trip3

We had dinner along the street of Jalan Bukit Bintang. After that, we went klkk around the area. Passed by "Planet Hollywood" & dh bot 2 tops for me! Haahaa... Continued shopping at Bukit Bintang Plaza or BB Plaza, nothing much to shop there while sil went to "The Face Shop" to purchase some facial stuffs. Returned to hotel soon after we were rejected entry at "The Pavilion KL" at 10pm.

As dh had drove a long journey, he zzz-ed vv soon after bathing. He even "forgot" to drink his tea b4 dozing off! The kids were playing in the room, so excited & dun wanna zzz while I was half-dozing off when packing the clothes.

One bz preparing his "bed" on the sofa, but end up sleeping on the queen-sized bed with us! Haahaa...

One bz making overseas telephone calls aka messing up the whole room!

Next day, we had breakie at the hotel's cafe "Kopitiam" at 7.30am. Usual western cum chinese breakfast. After breakfast, we started out quest to attack the shopping malls! Haahaa... limited time with so many big shopping malls to attack!

The 1st shopping we went is "The Pavilion KL" (the mall which rejected our entry last night rem?). Woah, this new shopping mall is big, vv big! Many shops here... a few same brand shops in this shopping mall! Dh bot a top for me from Levi's but he could not found any clothes for himself! Too bad! Haahaa...

Below are some photos taken there:
1) Dh's niece w my girl

2) Little girl throwing her temper!

After shopping at "The Pavilion KL", we went opposite to "Starhill Gallery: The Big Momma of Designer Labels". Yes, as the quote goes, this mall is filled with all the designer/branded shops! LV, Gucci, The Swiss Watch etc.... I'm not into branded goods, only know a few popular ones that I had just mentioned. The LV shop is big but messy, we left after going 1 round! Anyway, this mall is too "branded" for us & time is running out as we need to proceed to the next destination - MUAR!

So long KL (I will be back!!)
Hello Muar (Here we come!!)

Genting/KL/Muar Trip2

After leaving Genting, we went straight to Radius International Hotel at Jalan Bukit Bintang. Had a hard time find the hotel (as usual as we always need to spend abt at least an hr driving around KL to find the hotels!). Haahaa....

Finally reached the hotel, bil requested to upgrade all 3 deluxe rooms to premium rooms & was approved! Yahoo!!! Stayed on the non-smoking 16th floors rooms. The 2 sils got a connecting rooms while we got a room to our own. Not bad lah, at least got some privacy!

This is what I taken from my hotel room window:

Yes, that's the KL Tower (officially known as the Menara Kuala Lumpur)! Actually, our hotel is quite far from it but I used the 5x optical zoom to get this! One taken at night & one during the day! Not bad huh! Haahaa... Never realised the day & night photos when taking in KL.

Belows are some views which I had taken from the hotel room:

Genting/KL/Muar Trip

Had a short 2 days & 1 night trip to Genting/KL & Muar on last weekends (13 & 14th Oct). Driving 2 cars up the NS Highways, with 2 sils & their families, a total of 6 adults, 3 teenagers & 2 toddlers.

We set up at about 5am sharp from our home in SK to Tuas Checkpoint as we worried that there might be a jam if too late as last sat was Hari Raya! Surprisingly, there was no jam at the checkpoints. Reached NS Highway at about 6am, driving at an average speed of 140km/h. Playing w the GPS on my HTC TyTN II, trying to locate our position on highway (more on the GPS in my next post on the new device!).

Reached KL at about 9+ & proceed to Genting directly. As this was the 1st time that we drove up to genting (had drove to KL few times already!), we were quite blur on the route. Went the wrong way & went into Cheras town (instead of following the Kuantan sign into the highway) so we decided to have our breakfast there b4 continuing to Genting. Had a tim sum breakie at the entrance of the town, din looked out for the shop name as everyone was hungry, only noticed that the shop was packed w ppl.

After the breakfast, we turned back to the Kuantan highway & all the way up to Genting. As it was festive season, there were many cars going up too. Our cars got separated when reaching the First World Hotel & coz we were not sure of the route, dh made several turns to get to where sil's car was waiting for us. Hiazzz... finally made it at 11+, wasted so much time on the driving!

Sil got a parking lot for us when we found them. So we proceed to the lobby of the hotel! We proceed directly to the Casino. Walked passed the theme park area, the place is so beautiful, full of animal monorails, ferris wheels etc. My girl was fascinated by the surroundings & keeps pointing to them excitedly! As she only wanted me to carry her all the way, so I did not get to take the photos in Genting totally!

A sil helped us to take care of the kids while dh & I went into the casino! Woah, the casino is so different from the last time that we came in Yr2001! Sil "showed" us around as they frequent Genting with her in laws! They can spent their whole day sitting at the jackpot! But vv true that the jackpots are vv addictive! I juz played a few RM 2 cents or RM 5 cents games & got hooked! As dh & I were not casino-lovers and oso worried about our kids so we left about an hr time! Anyway I managed to win about RM$50+ from the jackpot!

We walked & shopped around the area for another hour & left for KL! Realised the beautiful sceneries along the way (when dh was busy making turns to find sil's car earlier on), I took some photos this time when we going downhill! Below are few photos of the sceneries when leaving the highland.

Hmm... a place where the saints stayed? Haahaa... Saw many saint statues & ppl praying there!

Facebook

This is the hottest topic in town now! I'm not into the latest trend normally but dunno why this time I got hooked onto Facebook! Previously, I had accounts in Friendster, My Space, Multiply, Hi-5 etc but seldom maintained them.

Now this new websites can really beat the rest & do wonders! It was actually set up by a 23 yrs old US boy named Mark Zuckerberg. Woah, from the latest Straits Times news on 30 Sept 2007, now Facebook got a total of 43 million active users around the world & more than 200,000 new registrations a day! That's a scary number of peoples who register leh! Heehee...

If you are interested in Facebook, do sign up & get hooked on it! Well for Facebook users, if you know me or interested to be my friend, please poke or send me a message! As I seldom add unfamiliar friends in my accounts, do leave a message like where you had found me or through which friend etc. Interested friends can search for me using Cherie Tan. Thank you!

I had set up 3 groups in Facebook to look for old classmates. Do check it out & if you happened to my ex-classmates, please join the groups! They are:

1) Li Hua Primary School - Yr 1983 to Yr 1988
2) Anderson Secondary School - Yr 1989 to Yr 1993
3) Temasek Polytechnic (Diploma in Software (IT)) - Yr 1994 to Yr 1997

If you are under the above group, please contact me in Facebook, Friendster, my blogs or email me. Tks!

OMG... My HDD!!!!

My current harddisk (HDD) has been a bit siao siao for a few months already, keeps giving me this error msg: "Primary Master Hardisk: S.M.A.R.T. Status Bad, Backup & Replace. Press F1 To resume" everytime I on the pc. Worry that my HDD cannot tahan any long & anytime might died on me so hubby decided to a bigger GB HDD to backup all my important data!

Went Sim Lim Sq to buy a 320GB HDD (treated as slave) & backup all my data there. I CUT & pasted all my data over to the new HDD. (Stupid me, why I never tot of keeping a copy in the old HDD which is normally my way of doing things. I dun mind repeating data as long as I dun missed any 宁可杀错,不可放过!). So I formatted my current dying HDD but still got the same error msg. So decided to get another new HDD for daily use & the other HDD as a backup, while the old & dying HDD can retire liao.

Hubby helped me to remove the dying HDD & installed the new HDD on master but did not unplugged the slave HDD. Coz stupid me din know MUST unplugged the slave HDD so that pc will not "accidentially" formatted the wrong HDD (maybe also I "chose" the wrong HDD to format tho I believed I did correctly as I had done formatting on my own b4). Anyway, 事事无绝对, things went wrong & I still din realised it!

Was formatting half-way then thinking to play safe, better remove the slave after that. After I unplugged the HDD, I found my formatting for something wrong, so re-do (this time w/o the slave). Happily format & installing all the neccessary softwares, then I plugged in the slave!

OMG.... what happened to my HDD??? Arrrggg.... all my vv vv vv impt backup data are all gone! Now the slave HDD actually partitioned into 2 parts & each drive only got a WINDOWS folder inside... sob sob!!!! where have all my data gone to!!!! Keeps thinking & thinking. I guessed I made a mistake for when formatting, maybe chose wrong HDD to format? But the partition was exactly the same as the master HDD... hmmmm.... how come like that? Sob sob...

Went online to msn my brother to help me & he told me to find disk recovery software online to try out & DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE BACKUP HDD ANYMORE. I downloaded & tried a few softwares on the old HDD but in vain. Some softwares did manage to recover data but found that all the recovered data are for drive C & not drive D (that's where I kept all my vv impt data). Sob sob....

Hubby suggested we go Sim Lim Sq to find help. Enquired a few shops for disk recovery software & accidentially chanced upon a shop owner who recommended me to try a repair shop at the end. This shop is doing repair for pc, notebook etc. Check with them if can recover my data & was told they can try. Charges was $80 - $150. If they din managed to recover, no charge. So I passed them the HDD & an Acer notebook (sil's son notebook lah). Time needed was max. 1 week.

I really hope they can recover all the data as there are a lot of my kid's photos & impt documents inside!!!!! Pray Pray!!!
